Hearthstone Celebration Event 2012

Entertainment by Glazz, a "Latin Jazz" group from Woodstock with guest singer, Judith Honesty

Proceeds to go to the Mary and Carl Mueller Rehabilitation Center at the Manor at Hearthstone Communities and to the Hearthstone Early Learning Center.

Woodstock Duathlon

Coming in the Fall is the Woodstock Duathlon race consisting of running, cycling, and running over a defined course for the purpose of raising money for a charitable cause. This new race, scheduled for September 23, 2012, will involve a short course (2K, 20K, 2K) and a long course (10K, 40K, 5K). It's open to everyone so start training now. The event is presented by KJ multisport and Hearthstone is the beneficiary of the proceeds.

Features of the race include:

2 new, challenging races in rural, low traffic venues
Family Friendly
Affordable
Chip timed
Long Course is USAT sanctioned

GriefShare Support Program Offered

Hearthstone Communities will host its next series of GriefShare for those who are in the process of grieving the loss of a family member or friend.

GriefShare, a Christian based support program, provides the opportunity for grieving persons to understand what is happening to them as they struggle with their loss. Topics such as Living with Grief, The Effects of Grief, When Your Spouse Dies, The Uniqueness of Grief and others will be discussed in a non-threatening setting. Past participants have found GriefShare helpful to them as they have sought to make sense of life after losing a loved one.

These sessions will meet at The Village at Hearthstone Communities, 840 N. Seminary Ave, Woodstock, beginning on September 28th (10 sessions). Times are 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Another session will be offered beginning in February 2012.

Ongoing Events

Grief Support Group

People who are grieving often ask themselves, “How long will my grief last? How do I deal with overwhelming emotions? How should I handle the big decisions that need to be made?” These questions and more will be answered through weekly discussion topics.

Hearthstone Barnabas Ministry

The Hearthstone Barnabas Ministry has been developed to provide an opportunity for alert elderly persons to develop a new relationship with a volunteer who will visit with the Hearthstone resident.
